The context
Close enough to understand the actual job.
- Problem
- Two decades of Texas race history existed across inconsistent files and disconnected sources. Riders had no dependable way to explore careers, compare results, or see the story of the local sport.
- Users
- Texas racers, teams, promoters, fans, and cycling historians
- My role
- I designed and built the full data product, including ingestion, normalization, automated pipelines, public search, rankings, profiles, event tools, and the operating interfaces behind it.
Product decisions
What I chose to make true.
- Preserve historical results as structured, searchable records rather than static files.
- Build repeatable import and cleanup pipelines because source data is never perfectly consistent.
- Make rider, team, and race pages useful on their own while connecting them into a larger history.
- Let the project earn its audience organically through useful public data.
What shipped
